Theresa Tramp
A little about myself: I am 39 yrs old, with no kids, but the proud mother of a 100 lb Boxer named Rocky, a cat named Sammy and a mixed chiuauha/terrier named Bentley. I have been employed with the Omaha Police Department since Jan. 1996. I was a patrol officer for 11 years and then went into the Detective bureau for 3 yrs and was a Homicide Detective for 1 ½ yrs. In March of 2010 I decided to come back to being a patrol officer and I now work in the downtown area.
I have been playing softball since I was about 7 yrs old and I absolutely love the game. Unfortunately, they didn’t offer softball in High School until the year after I graduated, so I was limited to only playing select ball in the summer.
Just like all of you, I had a dream to play college softball and I was lucky enough to get the chance to live my dream. I was offered scholarships to many schools, including, Wyoming, Pittsburgh State in Kansas, California at Burkley, and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I decided to stay close to home at play at UNO.
This will be my second season with TEAM Nebraska. In 2011, I was the head coach for the 17's and filled in when needed for the 18's. We went to 18U B Nationals in Tulsa, OK. After going 3-3 in pool play we lost our first game in bracket play. We fought back to a 3rd place finish, playing 4 straight games on Saturday. The 17's 3rd place national finish was the highest of all TEAM Nebraska teams in 2011. In 2012 I will be the head coach for the 15's, with a strong assistant coach in Jen Williams. Together, our combined knowledge and love of the game will compliment each other in a way that will be a positive and fun environment for all!!!
My coaching style is that of teaching, sharing my experiences, and most of all having fun. I mean, isn’t that why we all play the game, because it’s fun!!! I consider myself a college prep style of coach. I will do my best to get you ready to follow and excel in all of your dreams, both on and off the field. I am pretty laid back and love to laugh, but when it’s business time, IT’S BUSINESS TIME and I expect 110%.
Just give me your best at every practice and game and I will do the same in return!!
Now let’s have some fun and play ball!!
