Sports Bio:
I played baseball as a youth and football in high school. I was manager of a men’s slow pitch team for a number of years, playing as much as 5 nights a week until torn rotator cuffs forced me into early retirement at age 30. I became involved in coaching youth sports when my 3 daughter’s began competing at the competitive level. I have develop a real passion for fast pitch softball. I never would have believed that I would be glued to the television set during the Women’s College World Series.
Coaching Philosophy:
· We are here for the girls, they aren’t here for us.
· We are here for *every* girl, not just the “starting 9”.
· TEAM Nebraska is dedicated to teaching the game of Fastpitch Softball and developing the state's top players.
- Softball is a game…games are played for fun.
- RESPECT is the single most important rule for everyone associated with this TEAM Nebraska…respect for the game of softball, TEAM Nebraska, players, coaches, opposing teams, umpires, fans, equipment, facilities, etc.
- As coaches, we are on the front line of respect. It is *our* responsibility to set the standard and keep our players, fans, and each other in line.
- Every pitch is a teaching opportunity. We need to take advantage of those opportunities.
- Our focus should not be on what the player did wrong, but how to do it right.
- This game is about fundamentals. I’ve seen some of the top teams at every level lose games because they couldn’t throw and catch the ball. We will develop sound fundamentals.
- We’ve done our jobs if each and every player has grown…not only as a softball player, but also as a person.
